Students are Graded according to their Proficiency, Perseverance, Attitude and Record of attendance. Their progress is indicated by the Belt Colour they are permitted to wear. The purpose of having a grading system within any Martial Arts is to gauge the Progress of the individual's ability using a grading examination based on a set syllabus. Each step or level of learning has to uncounted carefully ensuring that to the best of your ability you have understood and reached a level of proficiency acceptable to the grading examiners. It is a point worth remembering that the colour of a belt does not make the Karateka, but it is the ability of the person wearing the Belt which gives it its worth and acceptability.
